Paweł Machcewicz is currently Professor of History at the Institute of Political Studies at the Polish Academy of Sciences and was previously Fellow at the Wissenschaftskolleg zu Berlin (2017-2018). He was the founding director of the Museum of the Second World War in Gdańsk and was dismissed from this position by the Law and Justice government in April 2017, immediately after the opening of the Museum.
